Baby Yoga uses a variety of controlled movements and stretches, swings, dips, dancing and singing to stimulate baby’s senses and to help develop baby’s sense of body awareness, sense of balance, coordination and flexibility.
It is mainly focused on baby aged from 12 weeks but we do also practice some stretches, relaxation and yoga inspired poses for Mums to help tone the Pelvic floor, abs and arms.
It is great fun and a great way to boost baby’s development whilst bonding and meeting other new local parents.
Baby Yoga is based on traditional yoga movements which have been used to help improve health and well being. Baby Yoga sessions also include dry massage strokes and lots of nursery rhymes to relax and captivate baby’s attention and create lots of fun.
Baby Yoga uses various poses and positions to promote baby’s general health and support baby’s development. They can help to increase a baby’s flexibility, provide beneficial stretching, improve muscle tone and co ordination. Baby Yoga also provides tummy time and active play in the form of rolls, swings and dips which help to develop baby’s sense of balance and body awareness.

Baby Yoga classes are run in courses of 4 weeks. Baby Yoga classes are very varied and we cover different moves each week so many people re-book on a rolling basis.
Just like Baby massage the sessions are completely baby led. Feeding, changing and settling your baby always comes first there is no pressure, babies are very unpredictable!
Please wear comfortable clothing.
Cost of the course is £40 including handouts and refreshments. Yoga mats are provided please bring a soft blanket for your baby to lay on.

Baby Yoga workshops are a one off program. Please bring a soft blanket for baby to lay on. They run once a month in Colchester in groups of up to 10.
Please call or email Sarah to check availability. Payment is non refundable and is taken in advance to secure your place. If any sessions are missed due to illness you are welcome to join the next course to make them up.

I would definitely recommend this class we both really enjoyed it ! My favourite bits were the baby holds for posture, cat/cow poses have been a lifesaver for my back. Ive never had back pain before but have been suffering a little and this relieved some of the pain immediately. Meeting other Mums and sharing stories and the exercise for us gave me ideas about what I could do at home to help with toning up. We learnt lots about how certain things help baby develop which was really fascinating and I loved the bits that incorporated nursery rhymes and in all honesty im not sure how you could improve it 🙂
